Our client, a real estate developer, opened a corporate account for his business, he didn’t know that his business is in the DFNI sector and one of the requirements to operate a bank account in that sector is to get a SCUML certificate.

Schools are mandated to register as a company by the corporate affairs commission.

As a matter of fact, any business that has education as an object is required to register as a company.

Before the CAMA ACT of 2020, schools could register as Business Name but NOT again now.

Once it is Education, you must register as
a Limited Liability Company - for nursery, primary and secondary schools
Or Limited by Guarantee Company - polytechnics, Universities or other higher institution of learning.
