Something happened some weeks ago, and I feel like I need to address this because I know some people have this mentality. π
A customer reached out to me to buy shea butter, and she said she wanted it packaged inside a Ziploc nylon. I told her, no, we don't package our shea butter inside nylon. We use plastic containers because we want our customers to receive their shea butter in good condition without worrying about it spilling during delivery.
Then she explained why she preferred nylon. According to her, if we put the shea butter inside plastic, the weight of the plastic would affect the quantity of shea butter she would get.
I was like, WOW! π³
Wait first. Is that how you think it works? π
Let me explain something.
Over here, when we say 250g of shea butter, we mean 250g of shea butter inside the container, not 250g of shea butter plus the weight of the plastic.
We have a weighing scale that we use to measure our products. Before we start putting the shea butter inside the container, we account for the weight of the empty plastic. So, when we start measuring, we are measuring the shea butter itself.
If you order 250g, you get 250g of shea butter. If you order 500g, you get 500g. If you order 1kg, you get 1kg of shea butter.
The container is not part of the measurement. It is just the packaging!
So, please, if you are one of those people who think that when a product comes in a plastic container, the weight of the container is included in the stated quantity, let me clear that up for you. π
250g means 250g of shea butter, not 250g of shea butter and plastic combined.
We measure the content, not the packaging. That's how we do business over here at Zema Organic Care
