Sunday 14.6: Le Marche food experience

More and more we learn that the concept of ‘journey’ has different meanings, interpretations, ways of being experienced.

A journey is not just going to places, feeling them or living them. And on Sunday we want to take you to our own culinary journey through senses and thanks to the cuisine of Le Marche region.

Every recipe - prepared by our friend and chef Alessandra - is a collection of gestures, of secrets, of shared stories and heritage from her family.

The food you will taste will bring you to Italy, to Le Marche. To those nostalgic feelings, when the heat keeps you home and you want to look at how your grandma is preparing those incredible delicacies…

Strawberries and rays of light: recipe inspiration.

It’s that time of the year. That time when some of our favorite red fruits like cherries, strawberries reach their pick.

They reach the perfect color, the perfect juiciness, flavor and texture. This time of the year we like to play joyfully with these produce and enhance some of our recipes, yet simple.

This time we share one of our favorite combinations and we take inspiration from our friend Laura.

In the kitchen, when the heat starts to hit from outside, we like to cuddle ourselves with recipes that are good for all senses. Also for the sight. Beauty is fundamental.

So today we’d like to invite you to choose one moment for yourselves and prepare these delicious little pancakes. You choose your favorite dough.

Our tip? Pick one of our organic jams - strawberries or cherries, reflecting the season - or make a cream out of the fresh fruit.

Lay a gentle layer on top and garnish with some beautiful, delicate edible flowers.

And your day will unfold gently..

The recipe to a perfect sourdough stuffed focaccia.

Close your eyes for a second.

The smell of fresh sourdough that just came out of the oven. The crunch when you bite that golden crust. And the drops of extra virgin olive oil on your lips.

Then the soft, fluffy dough inside. Then the delicacies we carefully select for you. Like the velvety pistachio pesto, the creamy stracciatella, sweet roasted peppers from Sicily… that pinch of salt coming from the anchovies filets.

This is not just a “sandwich”. This is what happens when you obsess over every single ingredient and gesture.

We visit every single producer personally. We always taste. Because we are our first customer. And then our smiles. Spontaneous and generous.

14.6 A culinary journey through Italy: Le Marche

Italy is not only cuisine. It’s 20 regions; each one with its own language, one land and own rituals.

Because in Italy food is a language. It is culture. It is where everyone reunites, no matter where they come from and how long they have been away from home.

We have been thinking about this for a while and now we want to start. And begin to travel. Exploring our regions.. through every specific cuisine.

We start from Le Marche. Because our friend and chef Alessandra comes from there, because she will share the secrets of her mother and grandmother and bring them to La Bottega. You may know her from our pasta workshops.

Plus, Le Marche is not a region everyone knows, not everyone can place it on the map. But it carries centuries of flavors and a variety of landscapes.

On Friday 14th June, La Bottega will be filled with these scents. Her recipes, her hands, her memory. Olive ascolane, cremini..

That kind of food that makes you know a place, for real.

Sicilian handmade cookies are back.

Good morning and buongiorno to everyone!

So happy to inform you that the handcrafted cookies and biscuits from our friends and producer are back after so long..

A team composed by Lucia, Melissa and Nanni ( mother, daughter and son) and their family recipes.

And that scent of “made at home” which is hard to describe with words.

Finally back…

How do you like having breakfast in the morning? In Italy and Sicily it is quite common to start with milk and cookies and a cup of espresso. Even though is some of these moments are changing due to a different lifestyle but we try to keep it… what about you?

Every plate will be enhanced and every drop will tell the story of Dario’s family and the territory. Stories told among their olive grove, populated by centuries old and unique trees. We will soon show it to you … bear with us.

Personally, we love a slice of fresh bread in the morning and abundant drops of extra virgin olive oil on it. Also for breakfast and with espresso.. what about you?
