Our Story
There are several reasons why you should always chew your food well. In our opinion, the most important one is the following : chewing your food well gives your body a better signal that it has feasted adequately. Or should we say, eaten properly. The feeling of satiety will therefore occur faster, and will be longer lasting. This will help in reducing your cravings until your next meal. Embracing your enemies is also a form of winning against them !
This is why we created Biobite - a tough and energetic treat filled with natural delicacies. We believe that delicious food is key to an enriching life. Additionally, proper chewing brings the flavours out even more. As you chew on a Biobite, your palate will venture off into a wonderland of different tastes and textures including those of hazelnuts, almonds, seeds, dates, berries and apricots. All of this on a base of valuable grains including spelt, buckwheat, oats and millet. On top of that, we add a blend of spices for that extra kick !
From a medical point of view, both doctors and nutrition experts often recommend good and extensive chewing. The enzymes in your saliva can then better perform their job, which is to break down your food to kickstart digestion in your stomach. An example of this is lingual lipase, which is responsible for the initial breakdown of fats in your mouth. Another, amylase, is responsible for the breakdown of carbohydrates.
