Greece is famous for its sunshine, blue seas, incredible food, hospitality and unforgettable holidays.
But behind the postcard views, there’s another reality. Thousands of animals suffer silently: abandoned, injured, hungry, and forgotten. In places like Rethymno, where I am from, there is little to no government funding for animal welfare. Survival depends almost entirely on volunteers who rescue, feed, and care for animals every single day, using their own time and resources.
That’s why we are starting with a fundraising at our shop for Ομαδα Εθελοντων Νοιάζομαι ("Noiazomai" is Greek for "I care"), the local volunteer group in Rethymno for animals, to support these incredible people. They are heroes! So next time you visit us, please consider donating, either with cash or through PIN. Every euro and every cent helps provide food, medical care, and hope.
If Greece has ever given you beautiful memories, this is a small way to give back. 💙
