Three’s a charm!
Ever heard that expression? It certainly rings true with our market project at SALT. It takes time to get things right, and three is our lucky number.
It takes patience and perseverance. It takes approximately two years of testing and perfecting.... and failing a bit here and there. That’s the process for getting things right, and getting events known and recognised. Two years of learning. The third year’s the charm. We’re starting year three with some great experiences under our belts, and even more determination to create a diverse and bustling marketplace on the Oslo fjord, filled with the best handmade projects Norway has to offer.
Handmade in Norway is a business that was created simply to help artisans, designers and makers to promote themselves. We support them along the way, through those creative ups and downs. We point them in the right direction and are very hands-on when it comes to the support we give. Need photos? We arrange it. Need advice about starting your business? We’ll put on the coffee, crack open a packet of biscuits and talk you through it. It doesn’t matter what it is, we’re there, ready to help you on your way.
Our markets are no different. We’re hands-on, ready to help. Vendors get a ton of tips during the weeks running up to the market day. We share all of our photos with our vendors, so that they can use our pics in their own social media posts. We promote the vendors AND we are very happy to help out when a visitor contacts us wanting to find a product they regret not having bought. We’re so pleased when this happens! It’s a pleasure to secure yet another sale for our talented vendors.
