Belief.!
"Rule your mind, or it will rule you." — Horace, legendary Roman philosopher (1st century BCE).
The mind is both an experience generator and a filter.
It is made up of thoughts, concepts, and — most importantly — beliefs.
The question then becomes:
How do we know what truly resides in our mind.?
Four Essential Practices:
1. Self-Awareness:
Like a mirror reflecting our inner landscape, self-awareness reveals what we carry within our mind.
*Meditation is one of the most effective tools to cultivate this awareness.
2. Self-Mastery:
Once aware, the next step is to guide and discipline the mind.
*The classical Ashtanga Yoga system is a time-tested path to develop mastery over thought and emotion.
3. Wisdom:
To enrich and elevate the mind, we must nourish it with wisdom.
*Study of classical literature, sacred texts, and timeless philosophy helps us shape a life filled with peace, harmony, and joy.
4. Mental Hygiene:
*Protect the mind by cultivating positivity and consciously blocking negative influences — especially false narratives, idle gossip, and media.
"Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds."
"Who conquers 'Self' is a mightiest warrior." -Confucius
