White Lotus Organic Concern Nepal Pvt. Ltd is a company established in 2016 by a group of women entrepreneurs, to contribute to the health of those in Kathmandu, and eventually, throughout Nepal. Inspired by AniChoying Dolma’s mission - not only instilling good thoughts for good living, but to promote a healthy life for people and the land on which we grow our foods. Some say – we are what we eat. If we choose to eat naturally grown organic food in natural and organic way, we can benefit in manifold ways. Nepal has the production capacity of a wide range of diversified and nutritious food from tropical climates to the high mountains. Our purpose is to make this naturally grown organic food accessible to urban residents, produced by countless women across the mountains. These women sustain the environment and the economy of the rural areas. Since these women face challenges in reaching the market, White Lotus is facilitating this process. Clients can choose Marsi rice and beans from Jumla, different dals from Rasuwa, maize from Okhaldhunga, buckwheat from Manang, Potato from Rolpa, fish from Nuwakot, mutton from Syangja, cheese from Jiri, vegetables from Makwanpur, Honey from Surkhet, walnut from Humla, and much more.
The Company is set up to promote natural and organic agricultural and non-agricultural enterprise in Nepal.
1. To promote production and marketing of all natural, organic agricultural, herbal medicinal products nationally and internationally.
2. To provide consulting services for production and marketing of organic and marketing of organic and natural agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises.
3. As per the objective WLOC will provide dealership, wholesaling and distributing services to the enterprises producing natural and organic products.
4. To contract agents and third parties and enterprises to promote marketing of natural and organic products of entrepreneurs.
5. To promote marketing, export and import of locally produced agricultural and livestock products nationally and internationally.
6. Promote and marketing of handicraft products of Pasmina, carpets, ceramic and metals of Nepalese origin.
7. To meet the objectives WLOC will participate in national and international seminars, events and exhibitions and organise similar programs.
White Lotus Organic Concern Nepal Pvt Ltd. is formed to bridge the gap between the women producers spread in the mountains and tarai who have little or no access to markets of their products and the consumers in the city areas who cannot easily access naturally grown agricultural products from different parts of the country.
WLOC’smoto is to promote the naturally grown and organic products of women in the rural areas, particularly those who have received microfinance services and those who want to grow as entrepreneurs. Larger goal of WLOC is to promote healthy environment for people and its land while in the meantime linking the products to good market.
WLOChas an outlet of its own in Bouddha but takes part in different organic programs and had set up stalls to market and promote these products to reach larger clientele. WLOC also wants to provide information on the market demands to every producers. WLOC has built marketing network and set up system to grading, packaging, branding in professional way and can provide service to MS client’s products and access them to market as competitors to other product.
WLOC is also on the lookout for natural and organic products from different parts of the country to meet the growing demands of naturally produced food products. As MS’s clients have little idea about the packaging, labeling and standardized quality of the products, WLOC is willing to provide its service in packaging the goods qualitatively meeting the demands of customers.
The promoters of WLOC and MS share the vision of creating healthy environment for the country and promote women entrepreneurs in remote areas and has come together to link the products of MS clients to markets.
As MS is looking for ways to link the products of its client’s (largely women) clients to markets, WLOC’s network and marketing linkage to a wide range of outlets become a handy situation to access market to MS clients products. Hence both the companies formed the consortium to propose Sakchyam for the Challenge Fund for linking quality products to specialized markets nationally and internationally.
