Bacon That Loves You Back
Since 2016 we’ve been making bacon that contains absolutely no nitrates/nitrites and no sugar. We believe our bacon is the only nitrate free/sugar free bacon available commercially in New Zealand. It wasn’t an easy process as sugar helps offset the saltiness inherent in bacon, and of course shelf life can be a problem when not using nitrate but after months and months of testing and then taste testing at the Matakana Village Farmers’ Market we are very happy with our dry cured, Manuka smoked bacon.
