Happy Matariki ✨
Online orders are closed now and tomorrow is the last delivery day for the week.
Our shop will be open from 6am till 6pm and then will reopen 6am Monday after the long weekend.

So there is still time to call in and see us tomorrow if you need meat for the long weekend!

And if we don't see you we hope you have a wonderful long weekend with your friends and whanau!

The Halswell Butchery fleet are dreaming of summer days like in the photo below, and if you are too, let us brave the weather for you!!

Few notes this week,

⏩Online ordering will close at 3pm Wednesday
⏩Thursday will be our last day of delivery for the week.
⏩Our shop will be closed on Friday (the 10th July) to celebrate Matariki

Matariki is a special occasion for us all which marks the start of the Māori New Year. ✨

It is a time to gather with family & reflect on the past and celebrate the present and plan for the future.

We also want to take this time to say thank you to everyone who supports our small family owned business - and thank you for continuing to support local. Enjoy the short week.

We would like to say a big thankyou before we finish up at 6pm today (you can visit us instore until then!) and wish you all a Hoppy Easter as our team takes a well deserved long weekend this weekend to spend time with their loved ones also.

Whose cooking a Sunday Roast this Easter Weekend!?

We dont know about you but Easter Sunday is as best excuse as any to be making a Sunday Roast, check out our tips below on getting the perfect roast! 👌🏻

➡️Cook it low and slow (150-175°C) (1-1.5 hours per kg)
➡️Use plenty of liquid, and baste it with that liquid every hour or so!
We recommend The Little Bone Broth Company we even stock their bone broths in store!
➡️The acidity of wine and tomatoes make for a meltingly tender meat, and great flavour!
➡️Keep the fat on when cooking it, it will add flavour and keep it juicy!

The best part is those tips work for any number of meats and cuts to roast, what are you having?⬇️⬇️
