We are a small company with a big vision and a love of all things natural, especially when it comes to food. Our passion and transparency can be tasted in the quality and flavour of what we produce. began in 2010, when Lucy Bennetto, a high school English and Drama teacher, started making raw cacao chocolate at home as a healthier treat. With a grant from TechNZ to develop her recipes further, she soon became passionate about the art and science of chocolate making, learning about the true benefits of quality dark chocolate, and most importantly, the implications of ethical sourcing. In 2011, Lucy made her first trip to the Dominican Republic to understand firsthand the ‘ins and outs’ of the sustainable cocoa supply chain. A myriad of new, high quality dark chocolate original recipes – the very first of which to the market is the Bennetto Drinking Chocolate Bar– an organic, sustainably sourced, premium quality, dark drinking chocolate bar, crafted especially to melt and blend well into hot milk. Our chocolate is Fairtrade certified, our chocolate ingredients are entirely organic and even the grey foil wrapper is made from renewable bio-degradable resources, you can place it on your worm-farm! Our hope is that our products have a positive, feel-good impact on people and the environment. We do this through producing great quality and innovative real chocolate from all natural ingredients and ethical direct sourcing.
