This one is a shout out to . Heidi, my most amazing volunteer who has come to the most harvests with me..plums, apples, pears, whatever is going. Heidi is always keen if she can fit her real (paid) work around it and will take some of the produce to the Pātaka Kai in her area - look at this gem! Dr. Heidi you are a saint, a million thanks! ###

Nashi pears? In Dunedin? Come and get them, sprinkled around our Pātaka kai - they are not like the ones from the supermarket...they are tasty, local and organically grown and taste like something else!

So good to deliver more than plums to our Pātaka kai and food banks around our beautiful city. Nashi pears are ripening in Waikouaiti and we are starting to harvest the first apples this week.

This was Waitangi weekend at Our Food Network . Golden plum fun out in Evansdale and redistributing the goodness to pātaka kai around town and food banks such as The Salvation Army.
Thank you Nia for donating 120kg yellow plums last weekend and Kim and Nadrah for harvesting them with me!
Nia donated over 200kg of plums in total (yes, we have been to Nia's place twice!).
I am always so grateful for my trusted volunteers helping us harvest...for Nia's place we had 20 volunteers harvesting those 200kg+ and some helping me deliver the goods back out to the community too. Amazing team effort by everyone, thank you you are very much appreciated!

Two years ago Our Food Network donated some money to help buy this tunnel house at the Green Island Community Garden. Today Marion invited us back to help harvest and distribute 103kg of these wonderful plums (see my previous post). I absolutely love how some things in life come full circle. It was so inspirational seeing (and tasting) what they grow up here. Look at the size of those tomatoes! Ka rawe!

What a gorgeous morning Our Food Network had at the Green Island Community Garden ! Our team of dedicated volunteers was determined to harvest over 100kg's of delicious plums from one single tree! And that's after helpers at their working bees had boxes full already, and we left plenty more for a few more working bees. A for amazing!
Thank you Marion and her team, you guys rock!

Wait for the next posts how far and wide this single tree feeds our communities here in Ōtepoti!
