Hi all,

I have been told by council that the children amateur cricket will be prioritised every Saturday in summer and we are not allowed to use the park for one Saturday per month for the market

I am a huge supporter of our young athletes however I believe as a local visiting Collins Park every day, this park is mostly used for dogs and the grounds are not prepared as a sporting ground at all. The only maintenance that goes on at Collins is a quick mow.

This is the reason I am petitioning that the cricket move to a sporting ground once a month and allows us to hold the market every first Saturday of the month in the summer months (October-May)

We have successfully brought you 80-110 New Zealand owned and operated small businesses from all over the country to your doorstep putting on an incredible display of delicious food, drinks and high quality products. It has brought hundreds of you out on that Saturday morning and created such an amazing buzz in the village every month of summer so please if you believe this has been an asset to our loyal and long standing community, sign this petition and let’s try to keep Greenhithe Market alive
