The 2025 season has finished. Thanks to all those who bought from us, especially everyone we bumped into while filling the chillybin or we chatted to at the market every Sunday.

Monday is probably our last day of the asparagus season. The bin will be out by 8am filled with the last of our pick for the year.

If you can stand your asparagus in water in the fridge it will still be fresh for Christmas!

The chillybin is out again filled with super fresh spray free LOCAL asparagus!

Tomorrow we will be at the South Christchurch Farmers' Market with our asparagus as well as our own cherries!

A new salad to take to your pre-Christmas bbqs:
Fry garlic, asparagus & shredded cabbage in oil. Toss with edamame beans, mesclin leaves, and toasted sunflower seeds. Squeeze over lemon juice.

We are almost at the end of our season. We hope to still be picking for another week.

The chillybin will be out every day from approx 9am until 6pm at the corner of Neills and Ridge Roads in Greenpark. We will also be at the South Christchurch Farmers' Market on Sunday. This Sunday 14th and 21st are the special Christmas markets.

Unfortunately due to family illness we won't be at the South Christchurch Farmers' Market tomorrow 30th. The chillybin will still be out so if you feel like a wee drive in the country come find us.

What a gorgeous day! The bin is out and we are off to the South Christchurch Farmers' Market.

A new asparagus salad recipe:
Fry onion & garlic in oil then add asparagus and chopped chard or kale or spinach and salt and cook until tender (poke with a knife regularly so you don't overcook to the limp stage). Remove from heat and allow to cool, then place on top of lettuce or rocket or mesclun. Sprinkle over toasted nuts or seeds (I used almonds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds). Top with juice of a lemon, grind of black pepper, olive oil and sesame seeds.

The chillybin is out again today (and every day until the season ends).

The chillybin is out again today (& every day until Christmas🤞). And our purple has popped up so there's a limited supply of that too. If you have never tried it before give it a go: it's a little sweeter than green.
We will also be at the South Christchurch Farmers' Market tomorrow.

The chillybin is out again today, and every day until Christmas. It's usually out before 9am and in approx 6pm. On a Sunday it's out by 7.45am.
