My name is Olivia, I am a 12 year old growing up on the outskirts of Hamilton. I am the founder, CEO, CFO, chief cook, cleaner, and everything else that I need to be to run my own business. The first spark of Simply Sliced came while celebrating my 12th birthday. We went to a local restaurant and that was when I saw the cocktail my Mum was served. It was delicately garnished with a simple slice of
dried fruit. I saw an opportunity and thought wondered how I could utilise our own surplus fruit that we have growing on our trees at home. I left the table that Thursday night thinking of all the possibilities, and challenges that owning a business comes with. I am so blessed my Mum and Dad both encouraged and supported me at the beginning of my journey. They are the only reasons I have the ability and confidence to express myself and business. My Mum even helped me research the tools I’d need to get started. My current product range includes dried fruit slices, chocolate-dipped dried fruit slices and cocktail salts.
