mon in the late 1980s after a career in farming. He bought a small block on the edge of Hororata that had an empty state-of-the-art food processing factory. A friend suggested that he use the abandoned factory on the property to smoke salmon. And that's exactly what he did. Knowing nothing about smoking salmon, he took himself to the library and read up all he could on smoking salmon. Twenty years later the innovative company is setting the standard as the finest smoked salmon on the market.
