“If you can afford the (often small) increase in cost, and buy NZ-grown food, understand that this purchasing decision has huge downstream affects. It saves jobs, livelihoods and builds a world of abundance that we all benefit from.

It also helps us purposefully design a food system that can both export for economic advantage and nourish our own people.”

If you are passionate about the New Zealand food system, particularly in relation to small producers, knowing your fisher and your farmer, than don't miss this opportunity to be part of the discussion.

It is based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland but is on opportunity to be part of a national discussion around eating and supporting local and creating healthy food communities.

We’re Celebrating 10 Years of Eat New Zealand!
Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th October, 2025

AUT, Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland

Ten years ago, a conversation in Ōtautahi Christchurch changed everything. Chef Giulio Sturla () brought together chefs, producers, media, academics, and food leaders to ask bold questions about the future of food in Aotearoa. That spark became Eat New Zealand—a decade-long movement to shape our food story and reconnect us with our kai.

Now we’re celebrating ten years of this kaupapa with two unforgettable days of talks, ideas, and connection in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, alongside our friends at AUT (), The Centre for Critical Food Studies, and The Pacific Food Lab (.aotearoa).

We’ll reflect on where we’ve come from, explore the challenges we face, and look ahead to the future of food systems in Aotearoa.

Tickets are now available and they’re limited. Let’s work on what comes next, together.
