This one’s for our stockists ❤️

When we first started CJ’s Hāngī, we were only delivering around Upper Hutt.

Then people from all over Wellington started reaching out… “Hey, what about us?” 👀

So we tried to make it work.
We set up pick up points across different areas…
Petone, Porirua, town, Johnsonville, Lower Hutt…

But it just wasn’t the one.
Pick ups were during peak traffic.
5–6pm. After work. In the rain sometimes…
And we knew… too many people who wanted our hāngī just couldn’t get to us.

That didn’t sit right.
Our whole kaupapa has always been to make hāngī more accessible.
So we took a chance… and started reaching out to local stores.
Asking them to take a chance on us.

One of the first to back us was Henry from Supersave Naenae.
He didn’t just say yes…
He supported us, gave advice when we needed it, and even helped us get into other stores.

That support meant everything in those early days.
From there… things started to grow.
One store turned into a few…
Then a few turned into many…

Now we’ve got 18 stockists across Wellington, with more on the way.
And it still blows us away.

To every store that’s backed us, believed in us, and supported our kaupapa…

Nga mihi nui a big thank you

Because of you, our hāngī is now easier to get than ever.

No traffic. No mission.
Just delicous hāngī, ready when you are.

We stock fresh Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday each week… Ready for lunch, and if you’re lucky, still a few left for dinner 👀

Next time you grab one… just know there’s a whole crew behind the scenes helping make it happen.
