Last Thursday we battled the wind and rain to get Lani down to Wellington to the ANZCO Foods butcher apprentice competition. This was the lower North Island regionals.
Lani is the first ever apprentice to represent The Kiwi Butcher Shop. Over the last 3 months she has given up weekends and after hours to practice & fine tune her skills and creativity.
In her section there was 10 apprentices competing for 1 spot in the finals being held in Auckland. Lani had 2 hours to produce a table of cuts from a whole pork shoulder , Lamb leg , whole rump & 2 chickens.
Lani being only 16 and her first competition she did herself and us very very proud finishing 4th.
Well Done Lani !! 😀
