Makutchen Organics My own self healing journey made me fall in love with fermentation and the importance of gut health . And they are absolutely delicious too!!

Makutchen Organics Australia is no longer trading and I have moved to NZ where I continue to ferment and share my passion for food and community. Makutchen Organics products are handcrafted in small batches using 100% certified organic/bio-dynamic raw vegetables and herbs and spices. They are traditionally fermented using a lacto-fermentation process so they are full of trillions of live "good bac

teria", essential for digestion and absorption of the food you eat. These microflora are called lactobacilli acidophilus and are commonly found in yogurt, kefir and fermented vegetables. These enzymes are needed for digestion and as we age our body loses the ability to produce these enzymes. Research has revealed the importance of certain raw and fermented foods in the diet. They also restore the proper balance of bacteria in the gut which may help with conditions digestives issues such as gas, bloating or cramping. inflammatory bowel disease which can cause constipation, diarrhoea, IBS, Crohn's disease, colitis,food allergies and intolerances, auto-immune disease, thyroid and adrenal issues, joint pain, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, Skin issues and mood issues. As the vegetables are already pre-digested by the enzymes in a long "wild"fermentation which enhances their digestibility and increases their vitamin content. Our Story

I am a lover of fermented foods from my own personal experience of healing my gut and a long term health issue. We are what we eat and we have the power to heal ourselves. I started Makutchen organics in 2012 to share a range of food that helped me.

Makutchen Organics products are handcrafted in small batches using 100% certified organic/bio-dynamic raw vegetables and herbs and spices. They are traditionally fermented using a lacto-fermentation process so they are full of trillions of live "good bacteria", essential for digestion and absorption of the food you eat. We also have a range of authentically brewed kombucha. Flavours change with the season delicious and full of goodness.....the real deal.

My small team and I try to be as organic and sustainable as we can, using locally sourced produce when possible. We re-use our glass and compost all our food waste.

We also love Kombucha and have brewing kits and pots, the kits have everything you need to start brewing kombucha at home for a fraction of the cost of store bought Kombucha.
