FREESIA'S

💐Freesia's are native to South Africa and were named after German botanist Friedrich Freese

💐 They are known for their incredibly strong and sweet fragrance, which is why they're often used in perfumes and bouquets.

💐Freesia's actually grow from corms, which are like little underground bulbs.

💐 The flowers come in a vibrant range of colors, including yellow, white, red, pink, and purple.

💐 In the language of flowers, Freesia's symbolize innocence, friendship, and thoughtfulness.

💐They are quite hardy and can even tolerate light frost, making them a great addition to gardens in cooler climates.

💐 Freesia petals have a unique waxy coating that helps them retain moisture, allowing them to stay fresh for a long time after being cut.

🌷 Tulips 🌷

🌷 Tulips are part of the lily family. Bet you didn't see that coming!

🌷 They were once more valuable than gold. During the Dutch "Tulip Mania" in the 1600s, a single tulip bulb could cost as much as a house!

🌷 The world's largest tulip garden is in the Netherlands. It's called Keukenhof and it's HUGE.

🌷 Tulips are native to Central Asia and Turkey. So, not originally Dutch at all!

🌷 Some tulips have a "broken" pattern. This isn't a disease, but a virus that causes flame-like streaks on the petals, making them super unique.

🌷 Tulips can follow the sun. They'll actually bend their stems to face sunlight, like little floral sun-worshippers.

🌷 The word "tulip" comes from the Turkish word for "turban." Because of their shape, of course!

✨ Fun Fact flower Friday ✨

🌻 Today's flower~ Sunflower's 🌻

🌻 Sunflowers, when cut, can sometimes attract aphids. It's not ideal, but it's a reminder that even these bright blooms have their little challenges, just like anything else!

🌻 Sunflowers can sometimes "weep" water from their petals, especially if they're a bit stressed or dehydrated. It's like they're crying for a drink!

🌻 If you put sunflowers in your vase and they start to droop, try submerging the whole stem (yes, the whole thing!) in a bathtub of cool water for about 30 minutes. It's a classic trick to revive them.

🌻 Sunflowers have a really interesting way of facing the sun when they're growing – it's called heliotropism. While cut sunflowers won't follow the sun anymore, they still have that sunny disposition!

🌻 Some people swear that if you whisper your secrets to a sunflower before you cut it, it will carry them away. Kind of a fun, whimsical thought for your next bouquet.
