A few snaps from the Wellington Protest against the Gene Technology Bill. It was a beautiful day and there were some absolutely fantastic speakers, but to be honest considering the magnitude of the issue the public turnout was disappointing. Hopefully more people are informed and there will be a better turnout at your local on the 29th of November!

Hey beautiful people! It would be absolutely awesome to see you all standing up for keeping NZ GE FREE. This is a HUMONGOUS issue and has not received much coverage on the mainstream but FYI the government is trying to allow gene technology (including GMO and GE) into our farming, food and medicine. This would change NZ forever. There are sooo many issues with the Gene Technology Bill in it’s current form. Too many to talk about here. A few that stand out are:
*NZ would become the most deregulated country for gene tech in the world along with Australia!
*Loosing our GMO free status will have serious trade implications. Our produce is WANTED by the world because of our clean GMO-FREE status. Our produce is NOT needed by the world.
*Non-GMO seed (including organic and heritage seeds) will be majorly threatened by GMO-contamination.
*GMO farmers and scientists will have zero liability for damages caused to the surrounding environment including contamination of non-GMO/ organic farms.
*There will be no requirement to label GE/ GMO ingredients as being GE/ GMO.
*The stage will be set for the widespread use of Frankenstein medicine in humans and animals (including more ‘safe and effective’ mRNA vaccines....).

If you would like to push back on any of the above points then let’s stand together! It would be so awesome to see as many kids as possible, because we are fighting for their future. Being an island nation we have the perfect opportunity to stay GE FREE. For more info on the Gene Technology Bill please visit gefree.org.nz Thank you Lux for organising our local protest!

We are selling organic tomato plants this morning at your Farmers Day Out!

Come down and celebrate 3 years of your Farmers Day Out! There is face painting, plaster painting and a bouncy castle for the kids, plus birthday cake for everyone if you are there around morning tea time. It's also a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping all while supporting your locals.
