Rakaia Huts The village on the north side of the Rakaia River. There is a campground and community hall. Access to the Pacific Ocean and to the Rakaia River.

The Rakaia Huts village on the north side of the Rakaia River is a mix of holiday homes and permanent residents. Plenty of activities happen in the village (Biannual Garage sale, Wild Foods day, and regular resident organised events.) There is a boat ramp (albeit under repair due to flood damage but still useable). In season you can fish for trout & salmon, whitebait, or cast into the sea. Not int

o fishing then enjoy the fresh air and peace and quiet of the area. Plenty of walks, watch out for dolphins and the odd sea lion.
