🔥 Reaper x SRTSL 🔥

One of the wildest superhot hybrids out there, Reaper x SRTSL combines the brutal heat of the Carolina Reaper with SRTSL (Sara Ragoonanan Trinidad Scorpion Long) genetics. Originally bred by Paul Willet and later refined by Giancarlo Fadda of Fadda’s Peppers, this variety has become famous for its insanely long stingers, aggressive blistering, and twisted pod shapes.

The plants are vigorous and highly productive, producing deep red pods with oily skin and tails that can grow longer than the pod itself. Heat levels are absolutely extreme — comfortably pushing beyond 1,500,000 SHU — backed by a surprisingly fruity, floral flavour before the burn completely takes over.

A savage but stunning variety to grow, and an absolute must for collectors and serious superhot fans. 🌶️🔥

“This Jay’s Purple Ghost x Scorpion x Primo hybrid is both a scorcher and a stunning variety to grow! The plant features dark purple to near-black stems and foliage, with pods that start deep purple, shift to peach, then finish as creamy white with purple hues. Around 1,000,000+ SHU, it delivers a savage fruity, floral heat with serious Scorpion and Primo kick. A rare gem for collectors who love both colour and fire! 🔥🌶️

Caramel Ghosts (Bhut Jolokias) hitting the cutting bench for seed collection 🌶️🔥

These gnarly looking pods are one of my favourite chinense varieties to grow — long, twisted, oily-skinned and absolutely loaded with that deep smoky-fruity aroma Ghost peppers are famous for. The caramel phenotype brings a super sweet, richer, earthier flavour profile compared to the classic red Bhut Jolokia, with a slow-building heat that just keeps climbing.

Every pod getting opened today means another generation preserved for next season’s grow. One of the coolest parts of chilli farming is knowing that inside every pepper is the next crop waiting to happen.

The cycle never really stops 🌱

CHILLI FACT of the week — Why do we keep eating things that hurt us and make us cry?

Let me explain what actually happens inside your body when you bite into a superhot chilli.

Capsaicin hits the TRPV1 pain receptors in your mouth. Those receptors instantly fire signals through your nerve endings to your brain screaming:
“WE ARE ON FIRE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

Your brain panics. It has absolutely no idea you did this on purpose. It genuinely believes you’re in danger.

So it does what any responsible brain does in an emergency — it floods your body with endorphins. Nature’s own painkillers. The same feel-good chemicals released during exercise, laughter… and apparently poor life choices involving peppers.

Then dopamine kicks in.
The reward chemical.
The one that says:
“Hey… that was amazing. Let’s do it again.”

So now you’re crying. Sweating. Questioning every decision that led to this moment…
and somehow feeling absolutely incredible.

That’s not weakness.
That’s not madness.
That’s chemistry.

Your brain just gave you a natural high because you bit into a pod.

Chilli heads figured this out long before scientists ever wrote papers about it.

And the wild part?
The more chilli you eat, the more your receptors adapt and desensitise. Over time you need hotter and hotter pods to get the same rush.

We didn’t invent addiction.
Nature did.
We just made it delicious. 🌶️

Some people go skydiving for their endorphins.
Some run marathons.

We grow superhots.🔥🔥🔥

A bowl full of comfort with a serious kick 🌶🔥

Today’s lunch was homemade spicy kimchi chicken and shiitake noodles loaded with rich broth, fresh greens, sesame, and just the right amount of fire. The deep umami from the shiitakes mixed with the tang of kimchi and the warmth of chilli made this one of those meals that hits the soul as much as the taste buds.

Cold days and spicy noodle bowls just belong together ❤️🍜

Dark, twisted and beautiful 🌶

These are Chocolate Ghost Peppers, also known as Chocolate Bhut Jolokia — a rare chocolate-coloured variant of the legendary Bhut Jolokia from Northeast India. Originally bred from regions around Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, the Bhut Jolokia became world famous after once holding the title of the hottest chilli on Earth.

The chocolate pheno keeps that brutal Ghost Pepper heat but adds a deeper, richer flavour profile. Expect an intense slow-building burn sitting around 800,000 to well over 1 million Scoville Heat Units, with earthy, smoky, slightly sweet notes underneath the chaos. Perfect for dark sauces, powders and fiery cooked dishes where you actually want flavour as well as heat. 🔥

These pods have such a wicked alien look to them too… almost molten chocolate lava vibes 👀
