Yes, our business really is named after our furry friends.

Black Shepherd Apiaries began with Pebbles, our beloved black German Shepherd. Her loyal spirit, gentle presence, and constant companionship inspired the name and helped shape the heart of our business. Though she’s no longer by our side, she remains a cherished part of our story and the foundation of the brand we’ve built.

Today, Neptune and Luna carry on that legacy. Full of personality and endless energy, they bring laughter, adventure, and the occasional bit of mischief to each day. They’re devoted companions to our children and faithful shadows as we move through the rhythms of everyday life.

Whether we’re tending the bees, working around the property, or gathering together as a family, Neptune and Luna are never far away, always eager to be part of whatever the day brings.

They may not lend much of a paw with the beekeeping, but they fill our family with joy, and their presence is woven into the life and spirit of Black Shepherd Apiaries. 🖤🤍🐾

Black Shepherd Apiaries – Seasonal Beekeeper Wanted

Black Shepherd Apiaries is looking for a hard-working Seasonal Beekeeper to join our team next season.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is reliable, honest, punctual, physically fit, and ready to work hard in all conditions. Beekeeping experience is preferred but not essential — if you’ve got the right attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn, we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for someone who is:
• Reliable and punctual
• Honest and trustworthy
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Willing to learn and follow instructions
• Motivated with a positive attitude
• Able to work well within a team
• Full driver’s licence

Role includes:
• Hive inspections and maintenance
• Honey production support
• Pollination work
• General apiary duties
• Working within a fast-paced family-run business
