WHEW! well that was a bit crazy! Thanks to everyone for your orders.
I'm working my way through the messages and will make sure to be in touch shortly. For those who have missed out, I've put your name down on a WAITLIST. Since I'm planting out the dahlia field this weekend, there's every possibility that I may find extras. If so, I'll be in touch!

I can already imagine our summer gardens in full bloom!

Dahlia sale is OPEN!
READ THIS FIRST: Comment below each photo with the quantity you would like. Prices are on each photo, shipping is extra. Pickup from West Melton is also available.
All tubers are showing eyes (growth points) but are still dormant. Almost all are clumps rather than individual tubers with at least 3 tubers.
Once you have chosen your varieties, please PM me to confirm your selection. There are limited numbers of each so this will be the most streamlined way to make sure you don't miss out.
We have kept strict sanitation practices whilst growing and dividing.

Some of the biggest hero flowers, and currently on trend, are Dahlias…

And it’s nearly time to get them in the ground!

They aren’t that hard to grow- free draining soil, watch out for slugs and full sun.
They can even be grown in big pots!

We have lots of gorgeous varieties, something for every garden and taste, but only a few of each type to share.

Preorders for Dahlia tubers are opening Friday night at 8pm! Stick it in your diary!

Prices will be from $10 and shipping is available.

Opening day is not that far away!!

Our new shop is nearly done.
Just need to add the trim, do the final paint, add all the trim extra bits and pieces so it works well and then I can DECORATE!

Not going to lie, I’m VERY excited about the decorating part!

Opening October 2nd!
As our opening day fast approaches, it's time for a little update on our hours for the season, our products and the general how, who and what of the whole situation.

Who we are:
I'm Sophia, the 'ideas' lady, most often the 'do-er' but not often the 'finisher.' That's where my sister comes in!

Esme has the epic talent of giving anything a go, finishing what she started and generally letting me splatter ideas and wild inventions around. And more often than not, being the patient voice of reason that talks me off the ledge. (Seriously, thank goodness for her!)

Grant is my man, who more often than not, gets dragged along for the wild ride that is me. He's the muscle behind the scene, (although Esme and I do pretty alright most of the time, thank you very much!) and he'd been very active of late with redesigning and building a new shop for the premises. (honestly, just wait till you see it!)
Then of course there's the little people who also pitch in around the farm. They range from 12-16 years old and we couldn't have gotten this far without their help.

What we do:
Basically we love dirt!
Yes, that's right, we're a dirty lot who grow with the soil and science, not against it. That means we also don't like adding unnecessary and FAKE things onto our plants and soil.
Working with nature may have it's own challenges, but I've never been the one to take the easy road (ask any of my family)!
Though we haven't gone to the expense of certifying our farm, we grow organically.
Specialty cut flowers, plants, and seasonal veges.
We also stock a range of gifts, cards and other fun things that can enliven your visit or make a great addon gift for someone.

Our products are available to purchase at our farmshop, located at 192 Bells Road, West Melton. We also have subscriptions for both bouquets and vege boxes available at www.wideskyacres.org

Hours:
Hours for this season will be same as last year: Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday 8am-6pm. Opening October 2nd-Closing End of April.

How to shop:
We accept cash and bank transfer and have plenty of parking out the front of the property. The farmshop is located just off the road, inside our flower field.

Come in, take a load off and enjoy the multitude of sights to be seen.

We can't wait to show you what we've been growing this season, reveal our new shop and meet you all again.

As always, thanks so much for supporting local.

XO Sophia
