Tomorrow marks our second birthday selling our fruit and veggies at the Whanganui River Markets. That's 104 Saturdays of sun, wind, rain and just about everything the weather can throw at us. We are extremely proud of our wee business and love all the feedback we get from our customers. Thank you all for your support :)

We will be adding Broccoli and Cauliflower to the table tomorrow (not a large amount so early bird catches the worm :) )

Did you know....Yams are bitter when first harvested and need a week in the sunshine in order for them to get sweet? Well this pic was our yams sitting in the lovely sunshine we have been having and now we can definitely confirm they are very sweet. No peeling just straight into the roasting pan. yum!!

We have a love/hate relationship with coloured carrots. We love putting them on the table and love eating them but they really are a pain to grow!! Poor germination, poor growth and they love bolting before they get to harvest size but we know you love them so there will be lots on the table tomorrow at the Whanganui River Markets along with

Good news and bad news, The bad: Today was the final harvest of this seasons sweetcorn 🌽. The good: There's a good amount on the table tomorrow and surprisingly it is super sweet and delicious!!
I had to taste 3 cobs straight from the plant to make sure they are fit for our awesome customers (you're welcome :) ) and ohhh yes they are just as sweet if not sweeter than our summer harvests.

The window for getting everything planted so it can get going before the cold dark winter days arrive has just about closed. Here we have just sowed another row of carrots that will hopefully keep us in the popular vegetable right through winter/spring.

Thank you to everyone who entered our "Guess the weight of the beetroot" competition. We had quite a range of guesses from 250 grams to 19 KG!!!
The winner of the $50 veggie box was Susan Keetes who guessed 3.30kg which was bang on.
It was lot of fun and we will be doing more of these in the future :)
