Big news, HOB family: we’re doing a remodel. 🛠️🥯

House of Bagels will be closed starting Dec 15 for ~3 months while we redo the footprint of the store, add menu items, and launch catering.

We’ve been making real NY bagels in SF since 1962—rested overnight, boiled, and baked on stone—and that part isn’t changing.

This St. Patrick’s Day, the luck of the Irish has made its way into our ovens—our famous New York-style bagels have turned a festive shade of green! No, it’s not magic (or leprechaun mischief… or at least, that’s what we’re telling ourselves). It’s just our way of celebrating the most shamrockin’ holiday of the year!

Made fresh daily using the same old-school boiling and baking method that’s been a House of Bagels tradition since 1962, these bagels are just like the ones you know and love—only greener and luckier!

💚 Pair them with a classic schmear, load them up with corned beef & mustard for a St. Paddy’s twist, or just grab one to keep from getting pinched!

They’re here for one day only—March 17th (and a few on the 16th for those who can't wait to get their green on!). Because once they’re gone, they’ll vanish faster than a leprechaun at the end of a rainbow. 🌈

Celebrate Purim with House of Bagels! 🎭

Purim (celebrated this year from the evening of March 13 to the evening of March 14) is just around the corner—a joyous Jewish holiday commemorating the triumph over Haman, a villain who plotted against the Jewish people.

Legend has it Haman wore a distinctive three-cornered hat, which inspired the triangle shape of everyone's favorite treat: hamentashen! 🍪✨ These delicious pastries symbolize the holiday and are traditionally enjoyed to honor the festive spirit and sweet victory.
