Wow! Very inspiring. I might do this as well.
BOARD PASSER AT 72🤩
Diosdado "Tatay Ebang" Evangelista is a farmer from Candoni, Negros Occidental. For decades, he cultivated crops including rice, sugarcane, cacao, and ginger to support his family and finance the college education of all four of his children.
After each of them had earned their degrees, he returned to school himself.
In 2018, at 65 years old, he enrolled at Central Philippines State University (CPSU)-Candoni Campus under the BS Agribusiness program. In 2023, at 69, he completed the degree.
He subsequently took the Agriculturist Licensure Examination (ALE) in 2024 but did not pass on his first attempt. He reviewed again and sat for the November 2025 ALE.
At 72, he passed, placing him among 6,678 successful examinees out of 9,742 nationwide. CPSU recognized him at a campus convocation for the achievement.
"Age should not be a barrier to fulfilling one's dreams," Evangelista said. "What matters is taking action and finding a way."
This story is a reminder that education has no expiration date, and that it is never too late to pursue what you set aside. Salute to you, Tatay Ebang.
