A lechon manok vendor was injured after being shot by two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle at the Minglanilla New Public Market, Barangay Poblacion Ward I, Minglanilla, Cebu yesterday evening, October 19.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Jerwin Lauron Bacaro, a resident of Barangay Tunghaan in the said town.
According to the initial investigation of the Minglanilla Municipal Police Station, at around 8:34 p.m., Bacaro was attending the roasted chicken and then sat outside the store while waiting for customers.
At that moment, two men riding a motorcycle suddenly arrived. One of them immediately got off and without any provocation, pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and shot the victim once before swiftly fleeing.
Bacaro sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of his neck and was quickly rushed to the hospital where he is currently recovering.
Meanwhile, the authorities are conducting continuous hot pursuit operations against two suspects.
