“My cake design for PEOTRACO’s “Cake My Day: The Vinta Origins” gives honor to the rich and lively heritage of the Sama-Bajau, Tausug, and Yakan people of the Sulu Archipelago. The design doesn’t only highlight the iconic Vinta, but also showcases the celebration of unity through livelihood such as fishing, trading, and sea travel. The cake is intricately decorated with multicolored sails and multicolored ornaments. The top of the cake shows the free-flowing waves which mimic the Vinta's graceful journey across the sea, exemplifying the profound affinity among the people, culture, and majestic Mindanao scenery."
