Super Taco (predecessor of Mega Mexicana) was established by Mrs. Pilar Gonzalez as a single proprietorship under NACIDA in 1977. During her yearly American sojourn, she observed the growing popularity of Mexican food in Los Angeles. Always on the lookout for new business ventures, she decided it was a good time to bring the trend to Manila. The company’s first machines were brought by her sist

er, Rose Reyes Shaw. Super Taco began by supplying the taco shell and tortilla needs of various Mexican restaurants. It also attempted to introduce the taco shell, with much difficulty, to the groceries. A few fastfood outlets started offering tacos. Orders came from restaurants in Angeles and Olongapo which cater to the American servicemen. In the late 1990’s , the first factory expansions, machine replacements (due to wear and tear) and new acquisitions were made. These along with high product standards and customer satisfaction, are still policies followed at Super Taco Inc, Inc. to the present. Due to the untimely death of Mrs. Pilar Gonzalez in 2002, Super Taco was reorganized to Mega Mexicana Mfg Inc. Under the Gonzalez children, the tradition of good Mexcian food products still continue.
