Making ice cream has been the Stifflers’ family tradition for many, many years. It all began in Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Warren, Ohio. Grandpa loved picnics and every summer, on a hot Sunday afternoon, the grandkids would gather ‘round Grandma’s kitchen table to make the family’s secret ice cream recipe. Ice cream was made the old-fashioned way – by hand, using a traditional wooden ice cream churn with ice and salt, and with lots of love. Churning and mixing the thick, rich cream and carefully adding the choicest ingredients until it was the perfect ice cream consistency one and a half hours later. And it was worth every second of the wait! Now, we’re sharing our family tradition and secret recipes with you! Still made by hand and with lots of love (but minus the wooden ice cream churn and the one and a half hour wait – thank God for technology!), we’re churning the same delicious homemade ice cream that made my husband crave for home.
