Starting November 15, 2022 until February 15, 2023, catching, selling and buying sardines, mackerel and herring in a portion of the marine biodiversity-rich Visayan Sea is PROHIBITED. This is to conserve and protect the economically-important species in the said fishing ground during their spawning period.

The Department of Agriculture-National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (DA-NFRDI) will hold its "FishKwela Series on Tilapia and Hito Polyculture" for BFAR training officers, instructors, and National Stock Assessment Program (NSAP) enumerators on November 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM via Zoom.

The activity aims to train the intended participants on polyculture of tilapia and hito and inform them on the interventions done by NFRDI on its current project under the Technology Business Incubation program funded by the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research.
