Golden layers of apples, buttery pastry, and a touch of French magic.
Say bonjour to my favorite season. 🍏🍂🍎✨
Ingredients:

Dough:
1 1/2 cups AP flour
100 grams cold butter, cut into cubes
1 teaspoon sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 egg yolk
3-5 tablespoons ice water
Apple Purée:
4 apples peeled and cut into cubes
40 grams sugar
1/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 vanilla pod
1/8 teaspoon salt
2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup water
Apple Layer:
6 apples
30 grams butter, cut into cubes
2-3 teaspoons sugar
2 tablespoons apricot jam for glazing
Preparation:
In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, salt, and butter.
Mix for a few seconds until a crumbly texture forms.
Add the egg yolk, mix, then add ice water one tablespoon at a time until a dough ball forms.
Flatten into a disk, wrap in parchment paper, and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
Roll out the dough and transfer it to a buttered pie pan. Chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
Apple Purée:
In a pot, combine all the purée ingredients and bring to a boil.
Lower the heat and cook until the apples are soft.
Remove the vanilla pod. In a blender or food processor, blend to a smooth, uniform texture. Cool.
Spread the apple purée over the dough and smooth it into an even layer.
Halve the apples. Using a melon baller, remove the core, then slice each half into thin, even slices.
Arrange the apple slices on top of the purée in a circular pattern.
Sprinkle butter pieces and sugar on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 45 minutes, or until the apples are golden brown and the crust is baked through.
Remove from the oven and brush the apples with warm apricot jam.
Serve at room temperature. Video and recipe courtesy of Ronit | The Kitchen Table . Follow her for more lovely recipes

Shrimp, Egg, Cucumber, and Shiitake Mushroom Stir-Fry.

“Today I’m sharing a delicious, low-calorie dish that’s perfect for summer. It’s very simple to prepare, cooked in one pan, and creates almost no oily smoke.

Prepare black tiger shrimp, cucumber, eggs, and small shiitake mushrooms.

Cut the cucumber lengthwise into four. Remove the soft center, then cut it into small pieces. Soak the cucumber in water with one teaspoon of baking soda for 10 minutes, then drain. This helps it remain bright green when cooked.

When blanching the broccoli, add a little baking soda to the water as well. Blanch the shiitake mushrooms, then drain them.

Arrange the mushrooms in a cold pan. Place the shrimp neatly on top. Add one spoonful of chili oil and two spoonfuls of water. Cover and cook for approximately 3–4 minutes.

Add the scrambled eggs and cucumber. Season with white pepper and a little salt. Add a small splash of water, then stir-fry everything together until well combined.

Once the flavors are fully mixed, it’s ready to serve. It’s delicious and beautiful!

For the broccoli, simply add a little oyster sauce and sesame salt.

If you like this recipe, save it and try making it!”

We like big boards and I cannot lie 😜

Big Board Tips:
• Use cheese as your anchor and the first thing you put down on your board
• Get your cheese from Costco and Trader Joe’s
• Fill in the big empty space with grapes and crackers to cut down costs
• Use 1-2 wow elements like fresh herbs and edible flowers or honeycomb

Make sure to have lots of extra cracker and sliced bread on the side! Video and content courtesy of Alaura Berry
