Aizu-Wakamatsu Castle, also known as Tsuruga Castle, is a historic castle located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is one of the most famous and well-preserved castles in the Tohoku region of Japan. The castle is truly spectacular in winter when covered in snow.

Cherry Blossoms 🌸 at the Festival of cherry blossom and rapa flowers in Minamiizu

Minami-Izu Town is situated at the southern most part of the Izu Peninsula. The town is blessed with nature - it is surrounded by a dynamic 57.4-km coastline and mountains rich in lush greenery. The early blooming cherry trees Minami no Sakura (southern cherry trees) extend for approximately 4.2 km along both sides of Aono River that runs through Shimogamo Onsen Village, which has 110 water sources (60 sources are currently used). The contrast of the blue sky, pink cherry blossoms, yellow rapeseed flowers, and white steam rising from the hot springs is picturesque.
