Part 2/2 (Transfer to Hatchery Tanks)

After noticing that there was a big size disparity between some the ARC (Australian Red Claw Crayfish) in a couple of our ponds, we decided to do a routine (or so we thought) “sorting by size” job.

We ended up doing a partial harvest because the amount of berried females (pregnant females carrying eggs) that we caught. It was a pleasant surprise because of the cold weather we’ve been experiencing lately. Unexpected blessings are always welcome 🙏🏻👆🏻

Join us as we first make the discovery while we were sorting (Part 1) and then moving the females to our hatchery tanks (Part 2).

Added some new rare color variants of P.Clarkii and ARC to our breeding collection:
-Black Ghost
-Purple Haze
-Orange ARC

Got some more of the following color variants to increase the genetic diversity of our breeding stock as well. Craylings will be available soon.

-Blue Ghost
-Pacific Blue Ghost

A quick glimpse of our hatchery/nursery area and our breeding/growout ponds while we sort craylings from 3 of our nursery aquariums. They will either be sent to our growout pond or selected as future breeding stock. We select only the most robust, durable, and most vividly colored specimens to ensure strong genetics for the future or our breeding program.

We currently run a polyculture R.A.S. (Recirculating Aquaculture System) with giant river prawns (ulang), crayfish, hito, as well as red and black tilapia for ornamental and food consumption purposes. The R.A.S. and the ORGANIC diet they are fed ensures clean tasting, high protein flesh and meaty healthy fish because of the controlled environment they are raised in.
