Health is wealth. Let not poverty ruin this dictum. Herbs are God’s gift to mankind which can be explored. It is just a matter of breaking through. I am a person who never refuses invitations to seminars regarding organic food and herbal products. I am also fond of doing experiments. From readings and from what I heard from friends and other folks around, turmeric is very popular . It is alleged to be a good detoxifying agent, it regulates blood sugar and blood pressure, it corrects kidney problems and urinary tract infection. One day, I fell ill, feeling an extreme pain in my abdomen. I had my check up and was diagnosed to have a cyst in the liver. Per ultrasound and CT scan results, the size was 4mm X 6mm. I was so desperate at that time because we have no money in case the doctor will recommend surgery. Mean time, my liver cyst was under observation, strictly prohibited to eat fried and fatty food and advised to have a periodic check up every 6 months. From then on, i tried turmeric, although I have not heard that it is also good for the liver. For convenience, I made my own turmeric tea based on what I have learned from seminars. I drink as much turmeric as I can in a day. After 6 months, I went back to the Doctor for check up. To her surprise, the size of my liver cyst was literally reduced to 2mm X 3 mm. She can hardly believe in the result of the ultrasound and CT scan. I told her, “ Doc, I drunk turmeric tea for 6 months.” And so she said, “continue drinking and come back here after a year.” However, I have never gone back for check up, obviously because I feel ok now. One more benefit that I got from turmeric is, I stopped taking my maintenance medicine for high blood when I started drinking turmeric tea. Also, my sister who has a severe UTI is well now. She was diagnosed to have pyelonephritis. When I started making turmeric tea, I advised her to drink the tea too. From that time on, her UTI never recurred; until now she makes it a point that she drinks turmeric tea at least once a day. By God’s grace, the infection was gone and hopefully will not come back. I thought of sharing the benefits to others especially those who can barely afford the high cost of hospitalization and health maintenance. I started to make turmeric tea more than what we need. At first, I sold the extra stocks to my friends and neighbors; some were sold by my sister to her friends in Manila Lately, we posted on social media, fortunately, there are those who viewed the turmeric FB page and there are those who ordered from there.
