We are proud to announce that we have successfully attained significant compliance from our tenant vendors regarding the prohibition of colored lights in the public market. Through ongoing efforts, 80% to 90% of our vendors have now fully stopped using colored lights, ensuring transparency and protection for our valued buyers.

This initiative is in line with our responsibility to uphold consumer rights, as set forth by Section 52 of Republic Act No. 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), which prohibits deceptive acts or practices. Section 52 explicitly provides that any act by sellers that misleads consumers about the nature, characteristics, or quality of a product is a violation of the law. The use of colored lights to misrepresent the freshness or quality of goods falls under such deceptive practices, and we are committed to eradicating this from our market.

Additionally, we are guided by Article 19 of the Civil Code of the Philippines, which provides that every person must act with justice, honesty, and good faith in their dealings. By removing colored lights, we are fostering an environment where fair trade and transparency thrive, ensuring that our customers receive only what they deserve truthful representations of the products they purchase.
We commend our vendors for their cooperation and commitment to these ethical standards. This effort is a step towards a safer and more trustworthy marketplace for everyone.
