In his heartfelt speech, Fr. Daryll Dhan L. Bilbao, DCC underscored the vital role of alumni in the continued growth of Notre Dame of Tacurong College. He highlighted how Damean alumni serve as:
โจ Culture Bearers โ living out NDTCโs core values in every walk of life
โจ Career Catalysts โ opening doors and mentoring the next generation
โจ Curriculum Contributors โ shaping relevant and future-ready education
โจ Champions of Charity โ giving back through scholarships and service
Fr. Daryll reminds us that alumni are not only proof of what is possible, but also active partners in making it happen. ๐

My very task this morning it to highlight the importance of alumni relations and engagements for the continued growth of NDTC. The most important resources that alumni can provide schools include:

NDTC alumni uphold and spread the schoolโs core values, Excellence, Christ-centeredness, Commitment, Empowerment and Leadership in their professional and personal lives. They are walking testaments to the culture of integrity and leadership fostered at NDTC.
One time, I heard a speech from a local public servant, nothing planned, just a casual event. But what struck me most was when she said: โI am the leader I am today because I was formed by the values I learned at NDTC. It was there that I learned discipline, compassion, integrity, and faith.โ
She gave credit not just to the knowledge she gained, but to the values that NDTC instilled in her values that guided her. Isa lamang sya sa maraming alumni ng NDTC who continued to carry the damean spirit in their business, classrooms, offices, farms, market places, homes and community they serve. They continue to bear the culture of excellence.

Through mentorship, job referrals, internships, and networking, alumni open doors for current students and fellow graduates. Their real-world insights and professional journeys inspire and guide the next generation. One of the most meaningful initiatives launched by the Alumni Office last year was the โConversation Between Graduating Students and Alumniโ, a program designed to build real, human connections between those who have walked the NDTC halls and those who are about to take their first steps into the professional world.
We proudly piloted this program in the Nursing Department, where we invited alumni who are now practicing professionals in various healthcare fields. The flow of the program begins with a plenary session, where selected nursing alumni are invited to share their personal and professional journeys, offering valuable insights on how they navigated life after college, from board exams to bedside care, from first jobs to real-world challenges.
Following the plenary, students break into small group sessions, each one facilitated by an alumni guest. In these more intimate conversations, students are encouraged to ask honest questions and receive practical advice from time management and job interviews, to handling burnout, ethical dilemmas, and finding purpose in the profession.
The goal of this program is simple but powerful:
To ease the transition from student life to professional life through genuine mentorship and the wisdom of those whoโve been there.
In short, alumni are not just proof of whatโs possible, they are active participants in making it happen.

Our alumni are not just graduates of NDTC, they are valuable partners who can help improve how and what we teach. Since theyโre already out there in the workforce, they have real experiences and practical knowledge that can help shape a curriculum thatโs more relevant to what the world actually needs. They know what skills are in demand, what trends are coming up, and what students should be ready for after graduation.
This was also highlighted during the NDEA General Assembly, where Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ shared something important with Fr. Jess Pasquin. He said:
โWe ask our alumni to participate in the enhancement of our curriculum. They tell us what the world needs and we adjust our academic offerings accordingly.โ
That idea really fits our own vision here at NDTC. By involving our alumni in curriculum review, department planning, or even just through informal sharing, we get to update our programs in a way that matches todayโs job market and industry standards.
This partnership helps ensure that what weโre teaching inside the classroom can actually help our students succeed outside of it. Itโs one more reason why keeping strong alumni connections matters, not just for school pride, but also for academic excellence.

Whether through scholarships, infrastructure support, or outreach programs, alumni give back generously. Their financial contributions, rooted in gratitude and mission create opportunities for those in needs.
Talking about scholarships, this school year, proceeds from the raffle draw will support student scholarships, providing much-needed financial assistance to deserving learners. Through this initiative, we are taking steady steps toward establishing a clear and sustainable scholarship program that will benefit future generations of Dameans.
โCharity is not just about giving, itโs about remembering where we came from, and lifting others up with us.โ
To our beloved alumni, thank you for continuing to carry the spirit of Notre Dame of Tacurong College wherever life has taken you. To our students, know that you are not alone in your journey. Many who once sat where you are now have gone ahead and are ready to walk with you and support you.
Our alumni are not just part of NDTCโs past, they are a vital part of its future.
