EIGHT-DAY SAFER CITIES OPS LOG 75,492 VIOLATIONS ACROSS METRO MANILA
The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported continued enforcement of local ordinances across Metro Manila as part of the Safer Cities initiative under the Safer Metro Manila Plan, with authorities noting signs of gradual public adjustment amid sustained police visibility operations from April 6 to 13, 2026.
For the full period, a total of 75,492 violators were recorded, with drinking in public consistently emerging as the top violation, followed by roaming without shirts, curfew violations involving minors, and karaoke use beyond allowed hours—four ordinances that police continue to emphasize in community enforcement.
For April 13 alone, 7,235 violators were recorded. The Southern Police District logged 1,703, followed by the Northern Police District with 1,619, Eastern Police District with 995, Quezon City Police District with 1,568, and Manila Police District with 1,350.
Data showed that drinking in public remained the leading violation at 2,121 cases for the day. This was followed by roaming without shirts at 176 cases, curfew violations involving minors at 66, and karaoke use beyond allowed hours at 356, while other ordinance violations accounted for 4,516 cases.
Most cases were resolved on-site, with 4,210 individuals warned and released, 2,884 fined, and 141 subjected to charges depending on the nature of the violation.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the continuing figures show both enforcement presence and public response. “Nakikita natin na mas nagiging aware na ang publiko. Pero tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang ating paalala, sundin lang ito para iwas abala at para sa safety ng lahat,” he said.
He added that discipline in public spaces remains a shared responsibility. “Community effort ito. Kapag sumusunod ang lahat, mas maayos at mas ligtas ang mga lansangan natin,” PGEN Nartatez added.
The campaign is being carried out in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, supporting the broader peace and order direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as authorities continue to reinforce everyday discipline in public spaces.
This ongoing effort underscores the message of a more disciplined and responsive police force under Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
