𝗦𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗭𝗔

𝗦𝗜𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗭𝗔 Empowering our marginalized communities by helping establish a sustainable livelihood & fair market.

Sierreza supports our local marginalized farmers, especially IPs, by securing a weekly demand for their harvest to give them a stable income. This will keep them from having to turn to destructive and dangerous livelihoods (logging, charcoal-making) just to earn fast cash for their everyday needs. By showing our partner farmers that people from "siyudad or patag" are willing to purchase their farm

-fresh, organic produce at fair prices, they will be encouraged to pursue and learn more about ways to farm fruits and vegetables in a sustainable, eco-friendly, and health conscious way. At the same time, we aim to be a channel where our customers can learn more about the people who produce our food, where our food came from, and how our food is produced. We want to have something more than just a trading relationship. We aim to establish a deeper connection between our farmers and us, consumers. We dream of communities supporting each other thru food and agriculture -- we call this "Community-Supported Agriculture". :)

We had to postpone our annual Christmas party with our partner farmers in Sierra Madre but we managed to snap a 3-second greeting to share with you all. 😊

And.... kasi we can't resist to show you a teaser of the ongoing renovation of their Livelihood and Learning Hub hihi. 😁

Notice the tall sliding glass windows, nicely tiled floors, smooth white walls, and... the hanging electrical wires (haha sorry bibili pa ng bulbs). Konti nalang maglilighting ceremony na tayo para sa first floor! 🥰

All because of your support and trust, friends. Napakarami pa naming gusto ikwento kaya uunti-untiin namin ngayong holiday break habang may panahon pa umupo at magpost sa socmed hehe!

Maraming maraming salamat at Merry Christmas! 💚💚💚

On our last day of door-to-door deliveries for the year, pagod na kaming lahat and mustering every ounce of energy left to finish our commitments to our farmers and our customers... (at napasabak pa sa 200 mph (meters per hour haha) na traffic 😭)...

Tapos... on one of our last stops, may inabot sa amin ang isa sa mga long-time customers namin: Gifts, carefully wrapped and PERSONALLY addressed to each one of our team members. At may pang team token pa. Napaluha talaga ako habang nagddrive sa gitna ng traffic. 🥲

Alam nyo yung kahit simple appreciation messages nga lang from our customers and our partner farmers, nakakapawi na ng pagod. Tapos ito, naalala kami at pinag-effortan pa. OA ba na maiyak? Huhu... kasi... thank youuu... 😭😭😭💚💚💚

Lagi ko pinapaalala sa team na what we do in Sierreza is not simply work or a job to pay the bills. We are helping people and trying to make a positive change with what little we have, in this world full of self-centeredness and apathy.

What we do is far from glamorous, at para sa amin na halos araw-araw ng taon ibinubuhos ang lahat sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo para sa ating komunidad, it feels overwhelming to be the one at the receiving end this time. 🥲

So please excuse the dramatic tone of this post, pero MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT SA INYONG LAHAT. Mahirap ang ginagawa namin, pero hindi kami bibitaw hangga't nandyan kayo na nagtitiwala at sumusuporta. Labyu. Merry Christmas. 💚

Nag deliver ng orders. Nag stopover. Nagtawanan. Nag-update sa community development projects. Hanggang sa napunta sa usapang "waste-to-dyes" at "dyeing naturally" (witty 'no? 😁).

Our commitment to making a change requires a superhuman kind of drive that can be draining sometimes (sometimes?? 😆).

But being with like-minded and like-hearted friends, even for a brief stopover, is a sure way to recharge and dream even bigger. 🥰

Thank you, good boys of .ph and new friend, Jean. It was an hour of rest well spent. Kita naman sa bungisngis. 💚

Friends in and near Makati, please visit The Good Store at Grand Soho. They are a café and hub full of sustainable products of different social enterprises all over the Philippines, including Sierreza of course. Sarap tumambay, nakaka inspire. 💚

**Earlier in the morning, we also stopped over in Cubao for our weekly deliveries, 15-minute catch up kwentuhans (na nagiging 50 minutes magically haha) with good background music, and shared gooood tofu coated with charred things of 2025 haha! Sayang walang picture! 😆

Thank God for good friends. Merry season indeed. 🥰

15/12/2025

Busy as ants and bees, but still very grateful for having the opportunity to share our passion to you! 💚

Hindi pa kami nakapagpost ng gift packages and holiday offerings sa lagay na 'to dahil sobrang busy lalo at may ongoing project tayo na Livelihood and Learning Hub for the farmers...
..And yet here we are, working on back-to-back orders, wedding setups, gift sets, and special requests (like this Taro Munchkins order that our café customers love... kahit wala pa ulit kaming café, inoorder pa rin hihi 🥰).

MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT SA PAGTANGKIKIK!

*Magpost ulit kami ng life update pag magkaroon ng time umupo hehe.. 😅

SIERRA COOKIE. SHARE A COOKIE! 🥰

We're here at the Enderun Colleges for Sustainability Week. 💚

On spotlight today are lovingly-made cookies showcasing our partner farmers' products:
🍌BANANA and 🌺 HIBISCUS/ROSELLE from SIERRA MADRE for Choco-Banana and Hibiscus-Walnut, respectively, and
🍋 LEMON from the CORDILLERAS for our Lemon cookies that feels like joy with every bite. 🥰

Ok na Christmas Gift idea, 'no? 😉

Special thanks to our pastry chef, and our sousyal chef, Dra. Ched, for making this happen... overnight! Hehe spontaneity at its best. 😁

*** We really miss our café and zero-waste store (huhu sana maibalik na namin soon), so everytime we get invited to bazaars, we grab the chance to showcase our café products again. 💚

5KAC LIVELIHOOD AND LEARNING HUB
Fund Raising update and Progress Report

Friends, we've reached 25% of our goal and things are rolling! 🥳

✅ Initial construction and electrical materials have been purchased and delivered on site (see caption on photo 2).

✅ We've installed the hub's own submeter and breakers, and laid out the wirings, switches, and outlets (see caption in photo 3)...
*** Tatay ko nagvolunteer mag-guide at magturo sa farmers ng basics and safety measures of installing electricals hihi 🥰

✅ The walls of the front enclosure has been put up and we're just waiting for good weather to start working on the concrete slab that will serve as the 2nd floor landing and roof of the extended frontage.

Up next for Phase 1:
* Ceiling and lights installation
* Tiles for the processing area
* Glass windows installation

And then we can proceed with Phases 2 and 3! 👌

Ang bilis! Grabe, maraming salamat. 🙏🙏🙏
Unti-unting nararating. Malayo pa pero malayo na! THANK YOU!!

**Detailed expense report to be posted on the next Progress Reporting. Isinaglit ko lang kasi itype ito habang nakapark at nagdedeliver sa clients 😅

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR FARMERS 🙏🙏🙏
..and all our vulnerable countrymen that are in the track of the incoming Super Typhoon Uwan.

Our partners in Quezon, Rizal, Tarlac, Benguet, and Mt. Province are all inside the track of direct impact (see markers). 🥺

We couldn't help but feel ANXIOUS AND ANGRY as this strong typhoon slowly closes in.

ANXIOUS, as we anticipate the damages and danger that it poses to our communities WITHOUT SEEING ANY SOUND PLANS FROM [MOST OF] OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. Knowing that it will be the same "evacuation center, state of calamity, help us help us, and then forget" script. With stronger rains and winds, even the less vulnerable ones have no assurance that they will be spared.

ANGRY, as we watch and remember that OUR COUNTRY HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH RESOURCES TO PREPARE AND PREVENT MAXIMUM DAMAGE --- BUT IT WAS AND STILL IS BEING STOLEN FROM US IN BROAD DAYLIGHT BY CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT POLITICIANS AND THEIR ALLIES... WHO SIMPLY FLY TO OTHER COUNTRIES WHILE OUR COUNTRY DROWNS! 😡

And even ANGRIER, knowing that after all of these, THE CORRUPT WILL STILL WALK THE EARTH FREELY BECAUSE THEY HAVE BOUGHT JUSTICE WITH THE VERY MONEY THEY STOLE FROM US. Our mountains and natural resources will still be r***d by self-serving industries, all in the name of ECONOMY AND PROGRESS.

PLANET > PEOPLE > ECONOMY --- IN THIS ORDER!

Ibayong ingat, mga kababayan. Sana mamulat na tayo at magbago.

LORD HELP US.

Dear friends, we are speechless and overwhelmed by your support. Naiiyak na kami. 😭🥹💚😭🥹💚

We thought it was a "suntok sa buwan" to roll up our sleeves and call for a bayanihan effort to raise funds to make this 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗯 a reality for our farmers and their community.

Pero inilapit ni Lord yung buwan! Masusuntok na natin! 🥹

It's only been a month since we posted the call for donations and now we are almost A QUARTER INTO OUR TARGET AMOUNT.

With this, we can immediately start with 𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝟭 (Postharvest Processing Area) and possibly cover 𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝟮 (Farmers' Store and Cafe front) --- this is where we will serve occasional FREE Meals and/or Community Pantry when our farmers have surplus harvests. 🍌🥥🥬🥒🌽🌶🥚🥘

Subukan namin tapusin before 2025 ends para pa-Christmas natin sa mga farmers. I-document namin para sa inyo.

MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT!!!🥰

PS:
Phases 3 and 4 are parts of the 2nd floor central Learning Hub that can also double as a temporary Refuge Site for anyone in the community that is affected by floods or calamities. Lalo na ngayon, grabe ang baha sa ilog pag may bagyo.

Just a little bit more to reach the first 50k mark and we can start with Phase 1 -- the Farmers' Postharvest Processing Area! 💚

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH to those who have sent support to help make this happen! 💚

Saktong sakto kasi magsisimula na ang harvest season ng Hibiscus (Roselle) and Ube so they can make Hibiscus tea and wine, and Ube powder and halaya for Christmas gifts! 🥰

Next phases:
Phase 2 -- Farmers' Store and Café (1st floor, front)
Phase 3 -- Learning Hub (2nd floor, mid)
Phase 4 -- Trainers' Lounge and CR (2nd floor, sides)

Mas mabilis pa natin masisimulan kaysa maghintay ng funding opportunity bago kumilos. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU. Community-Supported, indeed!!! 🙏
