4 Types of Classic Tandoori Chicken 🍗
Smoky • Juicy • Flavorful Tandoori Delights
1. Classic Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
• Chicken drumsticks & thighs – 1 kg
• Plain yogurt – 1 cup
• Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
• Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
• Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
• Kashmiri red chili powder – 2 tsp
• Garam masala – 1 tsp
• Cumin powder – 1 tsp
• Salt – 1 tsp
Method:
1. Make cuts on chicken pieces.
2. Mix yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, spices, and salt.
3. Coat chicken well with marinade.
4. Rest for 2–4 hours.
5. Grill, bake, or cook in tandoor until smoky and fully cooked.
2. Malai Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
• Chicken – 1 kg
• Greek yogurt – 1 cup
• Fresh cream – ½ cup
• Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
• White pepper – 1 tsp
• Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
• Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
• Grated cheese – 2 tbsp
• Salt – to taste
Method:
1. Mix yogurt, cream, cheese, lemon juice, and spices.
2. Add chicken pieces and coat properly.
3. Marinate for 2–4 hours.
4. Cook on grill or tandoor until soft and juicy.
5. Serve hot with chutney and salad.
3. Hariyali Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
• Chicken – 1 kg
• Yogurt – 1 cup
• Fresh coriander leaves – 1 cup
• Mint leaves – ½ cup
• Green chilies – 2
• Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
• Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
• Cumin powder – 1 tsp
• Salt – to taste
Method:
1. Blend coriander, mint, and green chilies into a paste.
2. Mix with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, cumin, and salt.
3. Add chicken and marinate well.
4. Rest for 2–4 hours.
5. Grill until smoky and golden.
4. Achari Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
• Chicken – 1 kg
• Yogurt – 1 cup
• Pickle masala – 1 tbsp
• Mustard oil – 1 tbsp
• Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
• Red chili powder – 2 tsp
• Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
• Nigella seeds – 1 tsp
• Salt – to taste
Method:
1. Mix yogurt, pickle masala, mustard oil, spices, and salt.
2. Add chicken and cover completely with marinade.
3. Marinate for 2–4 hours.
4. Grill or tandoor cook until charred and juicy.
Marination Time: 2–4 hours (best flavor)
Cooking Method: Tandoor / Grill / Oven
