Our coffee is an "arabica typica" grown in the hills of Northern Sumatra, Aceh region, around Lake Toba, one of the deepest lakes in the world. When roasted properly in small batches, as we do, this coffee has a a full-bodied, earthy chocolate taste, with a bit of a spicy tang. It is a low acid coffee, easy on the stomach. Its linage comes directly from the mother Arabica plant discovered wild in
"K...affee", in the Ethiopian highlands, and taken to Yemen by Arab traders where it was developed into the Arabica coffee the world knows and loves today. It was then taken to Indonesia by the Dutch, where it flourished. Sumatran Arabic coffee is one of the world's best coffees and is in high demand throughout the world. We selected this premium grade by personally visiting Sumatra, "cupping" many coffees before finding this delightful brew. Coffee is best consumed within weeks of roasting and soon after grinding. Coffee releases its essential oils once it is roasted but loses half its taste within a month or so. Coffee imported already roasted is stale by the time you buy it, even more stale if already ground. That is why we import the coffee beans green and custom roast on a daily basis in Pakistan, so they come to you fresh and full of flavor.
