বাবা নেই-এই সত্যটা আমি জানি, প্রতিদিন নিজেকে বাঝাই, শক্ত থাকার চেষ্টা করি, কিন্তু বাস্তবতা হলা এই সত্যটা আজও অমি পুরােপুরি মেনে নিতে পারিনি। আজও মানুষের ভিড়ের মাঝে দাঁড়িয়ে হঠাৎ থমকে যাই, বুকের ভেতরটা ভারী হয়ে আসে, মনে হয় -যদি বাবা থাকতোে, একটু ডাক দিলেই যদি ফিরে তাকাতাে, একটা হাত যদি নিঃশব্দে মাথার ওপর রাখতো -তাহলে হয়তো জীবনের কষ্ট্রগুলো এতাো একা একা বইতে হতা না। মানুষ বলে শক্ত হও, সময় সব ঠিক করে দেয়, কিন্তু তারা জানে না-বাবাকে হারানোর পর মানুষ আর আগর মতো শক্ত থাকে না, শুধু নিজের কষ্টগুলাে চুপচাপ বুকের ভেতর লুকিয়ে রাখতে শেখে। রাত চারপাশ নিস্তর্ধ হলে বাবার কথাই সবচেয়ে বেশি মনে পড়ে, চোখের পানি আর আটকে রাখতে পারি না, নিঃশব্দে কাদি,
