🇹🇭 Officials Rush to Assist Civilians Following BM-21 Rocket Impact in Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province, Resulting in 1 Injured and 1 Fatality

🇹🇭On 27 July 2025, at approximately 17:00 hours, a BM-21 rocket struck the area of Sao Thong Chai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province, causing damage to civilian residences and resulting in 1 fatality and 1 injury as follows:

- Mr. Somsri Lappaboon, aged 59, died from shrapnel wounds.

- Mr. Jai Tharnamthiang, aged approximately 48, sustained shrapnel injuries to the head.

🇹🇭Military personnel provided initial first aid and transported the injured individual to Si Sa Ket Hospital for further medical treatment.

🇹🇭Both the deceased and injured were civilian volunteers who had volunteered to maintain village watch during the period of unrest along the border area.

🔻The Royal Thai Army condemns the actions of the Cambodian side in employing combat weapons that have affected innocent civilians who are not involved in the conflict. To date, the total number of civilian fatalities from combat incidents has reached 14.

The Bodies of 12 Cambodian Soldiers have been returned to their homeland in Accordance with Humanitarian Principles, Demonstrating Respect for All Fallen Warriors Regardless of allegiance.

On 27 July 2025, at 16:30 hours, Thai officials conducted the repatriation of the remains of 12 Cambodian soldiers who perished during combat operations in Phu Makhuea area to Cambodian authorities at the permanent border crossing point of Chong Sa-ngam, Prai Phatthana Subdistrict, Phu Sing District, Si Sa Ket Province, enabling the return of the deceased for religious ceremonies in their homeland.

Undertaking this action aligns with universal humanitarian principles and honors soldiers who lost their lives in battle, regardless of their allegiance. It reflects the spirit of military honor and dignity, demonstrating understanding for the hearts of those who fulfill their duties in conflict situations, all of whom serve their respective nations according to their assigned roles.

The brave soldiers of the Royal Thai Army who sacrificed their lives in defense of Thai territory shall not be forgotten. Their sacrifice will be inscribed in the memory of Thai people, and others will continue this honorable mission to safeguard the sovereignty of Thailand.
