Due to the extreme heat and our lack of an indoor backup location, the Ackerman Farmers Market will not be held today.

The safety of our vendors and visitors comes first. 💜

We are actively searching for an indoor location that would allow the market to continue safely during extreme heat and bad weather.

🌻 We’re missing our market family this week!

Even though we won’t be gathering Thursday because of the heat, we want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support the Ackerman Farmers Market.

Every visit, purchase, share, comment and kind word helps support local farmers, bakers, makers and small businesses right here in our community. 💜

We’re also still searching for an indoor space that could serve as a backup location when Mississippi weather makes an outdoor market unsafe.

☀️ IMPORTANT MARKET UPDATE ☀️

Due to the extreme heat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this Thursday’s Ackerman Farmers Market.

Unfortunately, we still do not have an indoor location available as a backup, and the health and safety of our vendors, customers, and community has to come first. 💚

We hate missing a Thursday with y’all, but with temperatures this high, we feel this is the safest decision.

Please stay cool, stay safe, and continue supporting our wonderful local farmers, makers, bakers, and small businesses whenever you can! 🥕🍅🍓

🍋 THANK YOU, ACKERMAN! 🍋

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Ackerman Farmers Market and our Lemonade Contest yesterday! 💛

We may have been small, but we are incredibly grateful for every contestant, vendor, shopper, and community member who continues to show up and support what we’re trying to build.

And whew… that Mississippi heat was NO JOKE! 🥵☀️

As we head into the next few weeks, we’re keeping a very close eye on the temperatures and working on ways to keep the market safe and enjoyable for our vendors and visitors.

Thank you for sticking with us as we grow, learn, and figure things out together. 💜🌻

☀️ ACKERMAN FARMERS MARKET IS LOOKING FOR AN INDOOR HOME! 🍅🛍️

Y’all, this Mississippi heat has been brutal, and the safety and comfort of our vendors, customers, and families have to come first.

The Ackerman Farmers Market Board is currently looking for an indoor, air-conditioned space in or around Ackerman where we could temporarily hold the market during the hottest part of the year.

We are open to ideas! A vacant storefront, unused commercial space, large meeting area, or another location that could accommodate several vendors and shoppers may be exactly what we need.

Unfortunately, many of the public spaces available to us either have restrictions that prevent vendors from selling or have rental costs that simply aren’t sustainable for a small weekly farmers market.

If we are unable to find a suitable indoor location, we may need to temporarily suspend the Ackerman Farmers Market until the weather cools off. 💛

We don’t want to say goodbye for the season—we’d much rather find a way to keep bringing our local farmers, makers, bakers, cooks, artists, and community together!

If you own a space, know someone who does, or have an idea we may not have considered, please send us a message! And even if you don’t have a space, sharing this post could help it reach the person who does.
