We are really, really proud of the progress we’ve made over the years.

Our biggest focus is bringing you farm-fresh products you can enjoy from the ground up.

Our dairy cows are brought in each morning to be milked, sometimes with their babies.
Their milk is then turned into all of our products we make right next door in our USDA inspected creamery.

You are buying the best of the best. And we are really proud of that!

So happy to be a part of this! 🦬❤️

Something beautiful is rolling into the Afton Food Pantry each week for the next several months… and we couldn’t be more excited! 🌱

Thanks to the incredible Food Works Group Wyoming Forward Grant, we now have the opportunity to partner with amazing local farms and producers to bring fresh, healthy, high-quality food directly to our pantry patrons every single week.

We are thrilled to be working with Shumway Farms to provide their incredible Skyr yogurt and fresh milk weekly—items we know families will truly love. Alongside that, we’ll be filling shelves with beautiful produce like crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and this week’s special treat: delicate oyster mushrooms from Silver Stream Farm 🍅🥬🍄

And we’re just getting started.

We’ll also be partnering with additional local producers to bring in protein, fresh produce, and other Wyoming-grown goodness in the weeks ahead. This grant is not only a huge blessing—it is the largest grant our pantry has ever received, and it allows us to invest in some of the very best products our local community has to offer.

Now Hiring: Ice Cream Maker / Creamery Team Member
Shumway Farms is looking for a motivated and dependable person to join our team making premium farm-fresh ice cream and dairy products.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Ice cream production with another team member
• Follow recipes and production procedures carefully
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Assist with cleaning and organizing products and supplies
• Help take inventory of ingredients and materials
• Operate a few pieces of machinery in order to produce ice cream
Additional Duties May Include:
• Assisting in the farm scoop shop during busy times
• Helping in the main creamery when needed, including processing milk, yogurt, and other dairy products
• General cleaning and organization tasks
What We're Looking For:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Able to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours
• Team player who works well with others
• Self-starter who can stay productive without constant supervision
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Flexible with changing daily routines
• Willing to follow directions and accept constructive feedback
• Trainable and eager to learn
Positions Available:
Full-Time
• Option for Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts
Part-Time
• Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Pay:
Compensation will depend on experience.

Happy Winter, Friends!

It’s been an unusual winter here in Star Valley.

No snow for Christmas, and lots of sunny but chilly days without snow.

We love this slow down season, for our animals, and for ourselves but we are looking forward to sweet summer time.

🥛Attention Milk Customers 🐄

In Wyoming, due solely to raw milk sales, we have not been able to obtain insurance on our farm or our business. This has been an ongoing issue for many years, and we currently cannot get insurance literally due to selling raw milk.

Due to this fact, we are asking for your input on milk sales and what it means to you. Please, please if you would like to see Raw Milk continue, or are interested in a different form of processed milk (low temp, non-homogenized milk).

We know raw milk is a staple in many homes including our own. We know it has helped many, including our own families.

This is not an easy decision to weigh, but we must look at all angles moving forward.

We can’t move forward in many different areas of our business without insurance any longer, and frankly it’s becoming very heavy and worrisome.

Please, if you are a current customer, or are looking to become one, we would love to hear your thoughts in this survey below.
