We wanted to show you a look at doing a bee extraction. This is just one small part of what he does to get local honey to the market! Bring the kids to his booth at our Saturday market from 8-12 as he is great with teaching everyone about bees, and the science behind the honey you enjoy.

“Relocating or extracting bees from one place to another is(usually) the easy part. Keeping the colonies alive and eventually strong enough to become banging honey producers is where the art of beekeeping begins. Then comes the logistics of honey harvest, extraction dealing with byproducts and finally, packing and labeling for everyone to enjoy!

There are also more specialized and intricate aspects of beekeeping like queen bee, royal jelly and bee venom production. Commerical pollination and/or migratory beekeeping are a whole other bag of worms I have very little experience in but still find fascinating. So many levels, not enough time!“

Via : I finally tried .mi808 at the Saturday market at and it did not disappoint! The flavors from the hoisin sauce and Chinese pickled veggies combined with the fresh crunch of lettuce and extreme crunch of the fried wonton was very satisfying on so many levels. And look at how huge that thing is! It lasted me for two meals. Definitely will be back after I’m done digesting!
