Come see us at the Parade!

We’re kicking off the 2026 Akron City Festival with a parade with over 40 participants on Sunday, Sept. 6! The parade will start at 11am at the Spaghetti Warehouse lot (510 S Main St.) and head down Main St. towards Lock 3. Once the parade ends, the festivities begin!

The parade will also feature youth-serving, non-profit, community-based organizations as well as Akron Public Schools Athletics, Fine Arts, and JROTC.

Want to volunteer?! We'd love to have you serve our mission of bringing healthy and affordable grocery options to everyone.

Summit Fresh Mobile Market , a non-profit mobile grocery store that travels into food deserts located in Summit County, brings not only healthy and affordable grocery options, but partners with local health care professionals and chefs to teach healthy eating habits and nutrition at the markets.

With over 250 different grocery items, the Big Green Truck operates every Monday and Friday throughout Akron from 11am to 12:30pm. Volunteers are needed to help bag groceries and act as personal shoppers for customers with mobility challenges. Summit Fresh believes that where you live shouldn't determine how long you live! Healthy and affordable groceries for everyone!!
